    We are excited that you are interested in joining us for the CORE and/or Supplemental (Recovery Support Peer Specialist and Mental Health Peer Specialist), or Peer Support Supervisor Certification Trainings, hosted by Unity Recovery.

    What to Expect:

    • CORE Training: Gain an overview of recovery principles and explore key elements of recovery-oriented care applicable to your role. Pre-requisite for supplemental training.
    • RSPS Supplemental: Learn practical peer support techniques, build relationship-building skills, and engage with recovery-focused communities.
    • MHPS Supplemental: This certification is a professional credential designed for individuals who have overcome mental health challenges, and are interested in working in a peer role.
    • PSS Training: Learn practical peer supervisor techniques, practice providing supportive supervision, and prepare to take the next step in your professional development and career pathway.

  • Please note, individuals interested in becoming certified as a Peer Specialist Supervisor must meet the following eligibility criteria:
     

    • Be at least 18 years of age;
    • Be a QCC, LPHA, QMHP supervised by a QCC or LPHA, or a QPS supervised by a QCC or LPHA.
    • Please read this additional article on clinical eligibility requirements.
    • Be able to pass a background check that follows the guidelines set for peer specialists by Texas Administrative Code.
    • Be able and willing to follow the ethical guidelines expected of peer specialist supervisors set by the Texas Administrative Code.
    • In order to proceed with your TCB state application, you must also pass a knowledge assessment at the end of the course.
